congratuLations

The masculine cards are always quite big challenge for me. A masculine card for someone who’s just passed their driving test is even more difficult to make ;) Luckily the Chevron Chic Challenge over at Moxie Fab World inspired me to create this CAS (and quick) card:

congratuLations!
congratuLations!

The tyre track pattern is made from a “homemade decorative tape” :) After I’ve created and printed out the chevron stripes template, I’ve placed a strip of masking tape called “invisible tape” across the image, rubbed down precisely and then I’ve peeled up the tape gently. The ink from the image has adhered perfectly, and my decorative tape was ready to use. Unfortunately it works only with black ink, but I’m still quite happy with the result :)

Thank you for visiting today!

Hello!

I’ve been MIA lately with traveling and trying to get a handle on some personal things. Now when I’m back home I feel like I’m chasing my tail trying to catch up on everything what seems to be a never ending “to do” list! :)
Anyway, first thing first.
The winner of the Paper Crafts May/June 2011 issue!  Per random.org the winner is:
comment no. 07 - cards by cara.
Congrats! Please email me your info (just click on the ‘email me’ button in my sidebar), and I will get this issue (and some goodies) out to you!

My today’s card is inspired by this month's challenge at Hero Arts blog: Colored Pencil Techniques. I stamped pears from Engraved Fruits  set by Hero Arts with yellow ink (using a masking technique) and then colored it with regular pencils.  I wish I could draw like that!  ;)
